Healthcare Information Management Scholarships

HIMSS Scholarships

The HIMSS Foundation is the philanthropic arm of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society. HIMSS itself is an organization that seeks to enhance the availability, safety and quality standards, and cost effectiveness of health care through the implementation of information technology and management systems within the health care industry. To do this, HIMSS members focus attention on public policy, industry partnerships, research opportunities, and media campaigns to elaborate their transformative vision of the future of healthcare management and health care administration through the intentional and effective utilization of best practices in information technology.

The HIMSS foundation specifically funds programs and resources for students in the healthcare-IT industry through charitable giving in the form of Foundation and Chapter supported scholarships, access to the Dorenfest Institute database, and need-based funding for special issues and programs. This year the HIMSS Foundation will award ten $5,000 annual scholarships to students who demonstrate consistent excellence and a promising future in fields that combine health care administration, healthcare management, and information technology.
